Playoffs Recap: Day 28

It is official! The Flyers and the Canadiens will play in the Eastern Conference finals and the Sharks and Blackhawks in the west!

Oh fooey :( The Habs managed to knock the Penguins out of the playoff's and the Flyers are taking the Bruins to game 7. It was a bad day in hockey.

 So Bruins lost...in OT... suck...

Blackhawks won though and there was another hat trick! Jonathan Toews completely took over last night and netted three goals, the game with a final score of 7-4 in favor of the Hawks!

Tonight the Penguins and Canadiens go at it in Game 5.

Playoff's Recap: Day 21

So I'm beginning to think my Bruins shirt has magical mystical powers. Every game I have worn it for the Bruins have won and tonight's game was no exception!! Full recaps are boring so like always I'll give you the important details. Asham scored the only goal for the Flyers about two and a half minutes into the game. Two minutes later Wheeler scored and then came Satan's little sploosh. WOW! It looked like he was skating in slow motion and right as he was about to pass the net he tapped it in past Boucher. With two more goals scored in the third by Bergeron and veteran Recchi the Bruins were able to seal the game tight and now anticipate Game 4 in Philly where they very well may take the series.

The Hawks game was nothing short of FANTASTIC, EXHILARATING and VENGEFUL! Good god this has to be one of the most interesting series’ so far. The bad blood between the Canucks and Hawks only makes the game so much more interesting. Aside from exceptional game play you get a side order of extreme checks, mouthing off and lots of fights. The Hawks took the game with an ending 5-2 score and pretty much laid out the Canucks while at it. The star of the game was Big Buff though who got the first Hawks playoff hat trick since like the 70s! With only three minutes left in the game an all out brawl ensued right in front of the Hawks bench centering around Bolland and Burrows (video coming soon). You can see the Hawks bench all smiles, Burish and Eager mouthing off, as O’Brien is backed away, HILARIOUS. The Hawks now lead the series 2-1 and return for Game 4 in Vancouver on Friday.

Playoff's Recap: Day 19

It was a great day in Hockey for both the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks.
The Bruins have taken a strong lead over the Flyers after today's win in a 3-2 game. With goals from Satan and Boychuck the Bruins are off to a great series start.

The Blackhawks game was another success. Canuck Mason Raymond got an early goal followed by another by Mikael Samuelsson but the Hawks didn't stop their game. Brent Seabrook netted one in the first and from there on the team had some momentum. With no scoring in the 2nd the Hawks came back in the 3rd with an amazing goal by the Sharp Shooter Patrick Sharp. Steeger's game winner showed just how great the Hawks are at passing the puck and then Patrick Kane sealed the deal with an empty net goal with 45 seconds to spare. The Hawks are back in the game and have tied the series 1-1.

Playoffs Recap: Day 9

What a day of hockey. The Flyers became the first team to win a quarterfinal series and the Penguins went into TRIPLE OT with the Senators. I wish I could say I felt bad for the Devils but I don't. They just fell apart at the worst possible time. If you don't bring your A game you're gonna lose it and lose it they did, in a shutout game mind you.
The Penguins and Senators game was great and entertaining but good god did that think take forever. The Pens weren't able to win despite a series 3-1 lead. Hopefully tonight they'll end their series in Ottawa.
The Hawks put on a great show and Niemi got his second shutout of the playoffs. Sharpie put in two goals and Tazer one :), the Predators? ZERO. Could it be that Soupy was back or perhaps the Hawks just realized two more losses and they were out. Either way they won making me a very happy girl.
I'd be lying if I was interested in the Sharks/Avalanche series but they still deserve some blog time. The Sharks had their first shutout of the playoffs and pretty much raped the Avalanche with a 5-0 win.

Playoffs Recap: Day 7

The Hawks were INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING last night, to say the least. Not only were they raped in a 4-1 game but they also gave up a penalty shop. Great job Dustin.

The Penguins on the other hand played a great game! A 7-4 game is exciting but shows extremely poor goal-tending. They are sitting comfortably with a series 3-1 league.

Niemi had an amazing night in Chicago shutting out the Predators in a 2-0 lead. Now that is how I like to see the Blackhawks playing!

Playoffs Recap: Day 3

Let's keep this short and sweet.
The Blackhawks were raped by the Predators despite an awesome goal by mullet-head Patrick Kane.
Kris Letang surprisingly won it for the Pens and tied the series at 1-1.
The Devils came back at the Flyer and won 5 to 3.
The Red Wings did an AMAZING job against the Coyotes, Henrik Zetteberg getting a hat trick and everything! They tied the series with a 7-4 win.
Finally after fighting hard the Sharks came back in the third sending the game into OT and beating the Avalanche in a 6-5 game.

Tonight the Capitals and the Canadiens go at it again (THE CAPITALS ARE CURRENTLY GETTING OWNED 3-1 IN THE 2ND).

Fight Night!

Wowowowow...what a game! I am proud to announce that the Panthers REAMED the Flyers and won 7-4. Right from the get go the game was pure fire! Three seconds into the game Campbell & Laperriere did a little dance, and two seconds after that Tarnasky & Asham tangoed. Two fights in the first 5 seconds! I had excitement coming out of my pores...that's the kind of hockey I LOVE to watch! But it wasn't over yet, less than two minutes later BOOOOOTH got into it with Richards...can we please say REDEMPTION! As if that wasn't revenge enough, he scored a goal (his second in as many nights) & had three assists, four points on the night for him...sweet justice! I do apologize for not having more faith in my boys, but after the month of February, I think I was allowed a little skepticism.

Saturday night the Carolina Hurricanes are in town, which means one of my favorite brothers from the NHL will be visiting South Florida. I just love those Staal men. I'll be there also cheering, hoping and praying that the Cats can carry over tonight's aggressive style of play.

As if the hockey gods heard me it was pass, shoot and score all night.
