Playoffs Recap: Day 25

The Canadiens are continuing their annoying drive for the cup. Again the Cinderella team beat the Penguins and have forced a game 7 upon the defending Stanley Cup champions. Final score was 4-3.

Bruins failed to score against the Flyers leaving the game with a final score of 4-0.

Crap...

Playoffs Recap: Day 24

The Sharks are the first team to make it to the conference finals knocking out the Red Wings. Despite a nice drive by the Wings who kept the game tied for most of it, the Sharks broke their playoff bad luck spell!
The Penguins pleased their home fans in a 2-1 game against the Canadiens. In your face CALAMARI!

Short and sweet :)

Playoffs Recap: Day 22

The Penguins fought hard but fell short in tonight's game against the Habs. Pens/Habs final score was 3-2 despite an ongoing lead by the Pens. The series is now tied 2-2.
Crazy night in Hockeytown where Johan Franzen scored 4 goals in just one period and the overall score was 7-1!!! Guess the Red Wings aren't ready to end their season. Boys are back in San Jose Saturday for Game 5.

Playoff's Recap: Day 20

20 days of playoff's and the action is only getting better!
Today the Penguins and Canadiens played their first semifinal game in Montreal and unfortunately things did not go well for the Canadiens. Fleury managed to get a shutout (looks like he's finally starting to play like a Stanley Cup Champion) and Malkin finally netted one after a five game dry spell. Just because they lost does not mean the Habs didn't play well. Halak was still a force and notable presences on the ice were former Florida Panther Dominic Moore and P.K. Subban. The Penguins now lead the series 2-1. The Habs and Pens go for game 4 in Montreal on Thursday.
Hockeytown fell silent tonight. The Sharks have taken a strong 3-0 lead over the Red Wings after yesterday's OT game. Despite early goals by the Wings and even a penalty shot opportunity, the veteran team fell to the California team. The Sharks hope to close out this series Thursday night in Detroit.

Playoff's Recap: Day 15 and 16

Although I have a strange attraction to the Wings I will admit I did not watch the game. I caught some highlights the following day but that's all. The Sharks took an early lead in the game and it looked like the Wings were going to get shut out but they made an amazing comeback. The Sharks kept the lead though and won 4-3.

The Penguins/Canadiens game was a blast of energy and it is safe to say that Halak has met his match. The Penguins got 4 pucks past Halak before the Canadiens put Price in. Although they had  a great win with a final score of 6-3, the Pens still suffered a great loss when Jordan Staal took the blade of P.K. Subban to his foot. Staalsy had surgery to repair a lacerated tendon and although he is not ruled out of the rest of the playoff's he is currently on day to day.

The Hockey Bees hope for a speedy recovery and may Staalsy be back soon!

In just half an hour the Chicago Blackhawks begin their series against the Vancouver Canucks so be sure to watch!!

Playoffs Recap: Day 11

What a great day in hockey! 2 series were closed out and the Hawks tied their series!
How about that last second goal by Kaner? And then there was that OT goal by Hossa just a second after he was out of the box! The Hawks return to Nashville tomorrow for game 5 of their series.
The Sharks closed out their series with the help of Joe Pavelski who netted two goals and beat the Avalanche 5-2. The Sharks will come back to the semifinal series and play whoever wins out of the Red Wings/Coyotes series.
The Penguins and Senators sure do know how to get plays reviewed. Including game 5 they had a total of 6 goal reviews, some working in favor and some not. I'll tell you, that situation room in Toronto sure was busy. The Penguins were able to come back from a 2-0 deficit, tie the game and then take it in overtime with a goal from Pascal Dupuis.Pascal Dupuis was the official #1 star but I give it to Matt Cooke for his two goals and because he's missing like 8 teeth and can rock it. The Penguins will rest now until the Canadien/Capitals series ends.

Today the Red Wings hope to close out their series against the Coyotes as do the Canucks against the Kings.

Playoffs Recap: Day 9

What a day of hockey. The Flyers became the first team to win a quarterfinal series and the Penguins went into TRIPLE OT with the Senators. I wish I could say I felt bad for the Devils but I don't. They just fell apart at the worst possible time. If you don't bring your A game you're gonna lose it and lose it they did, in a shutout game mind you.
The Penguins and Senators game was great and entertaining but good god did that think take forever. The Pens weren't able to win despite a series 3-1 lead. Hopefully tonight they'll end their series in Ottawa.
The Hawks put on a great show and Niemi got his second shutout of the playoffs. Sharpie put in two goals and Tazer one :), the Predators? ZERO. Could it be that Soupy was back or perhaps the Hawks just realized two more losses and they were out. Either way they won making me a very happy girl.
I'd be lying if I was interested in the Sharks/Avalanche series but they still deserve some blog time. The Sharks had their first shutout of the playoffs and pretty much raped the Avalanche with a 5-0 win.

Officially in LOVE with playoff hockey...

Last night's game between the Bruins & Sabres made it crystal clear as to why the NHL playoffs are the best to watch. DOUBLE overtime!!! It took almost an extra 40 minutes for a decision to be made. Ultimately Satan became the hero of the night scoring a siiick goal about 8 minutes into 2OT. It was amazing to watch...if I would've still been in Boston, you better believe I would've found a way to be there. Bruins are now up 3-1 in the series.

The Washington Capitals also won their 3rd game in the series last night. I was recently hit with a reality, when the Caps & Pens win their respective series, they'll be facing each other in the next round. Super conflict of interest! I love my Pens, but the Caps are so much fun to watch! That series will be the death of me. The Penguins should wrap up their series tonight back home.

And lastly, my Hawks play tonight also. Tuesday nights game just sucked, I actually turned it off after the Preds 4th goal. How are they going to make it to the finals if they keep up with the shiteous play?!?! Pick it up!!!

Playoffs Recap: Day 7

The Hawks were INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING last night, to say the least. Not only were they raped in a 4-1 game but they also gave up a penalty shop. Great job Dustin.

The Penguins on the other hand played a great game! A 7-4 game is exciting but shows extremely poor goal-tending. They are sitting comfortably with a series 3-1 league.

ohhh Chris Neil...

your toothless ass is an idiot :)

As if your teams 7-4 loss in game 3 to the Penguins wasn't embarrassing enough. You had to go & make a god damn stupid spectacle with less than 2 minutes left in the period. I can't wait until you're off to play golf for the rest of the summer in less than a weeks times. I'm pretty sure the only person I like on the Senators is Mike Fisher...the rest of the retards on that team try way to hard.

On a much much happier note, my Pens are now leading the series 3-1. All they need is a win at the Igloo on Thursday to move on to the next round. Sidney Crosby is playing absolutely ridiculous hockey.

And the Caps are up in their series 2-1 after beating the Habs 5-1 on Monday night. It looks as if that first game was just a fluke. They are definitely back on point. I hope they wrap this series up by Friday as well. Rookie John Carlson is proving to be a force for the boys in Red, if he keeps it up I smell a niiiice contract in the near future.
