The Pens lost. They fell in game 1 to the Sens 5-4. A late goal by Goligoski gave the Pens and the home crowd some hope, but it wouldn't be enough. The Senators lead the series 1-0. Game 2 at the igloo will take place on Friday night...lets hope the boys can even the series at one-a-piece. Is this a sign of things to come? I hope not, because I sure hope the Penguins repeat as champions.
Tomorrow night the Washington Capitals begin their quest for Lord Stanley, taking on the 8th seeded Montreal Canadiens at the Verizon Center. The Caps are one my picks to make it to the Finals, even though I really would love to see my Pens take on the Hawks. The BlackHawks start their road to the finals Friday night against the Preds, even though I have the utmost faith in the Hawks, the Preds can be surprising. Niemi needs to be on point!
